Combat Roles

Every build leans into one of four archetypes. Stats, gear, and mastery all stack toward your chosen path.

Crit

Intuition-driven build. High crit chance turns one opening into lethal damage. Reads opponent movement to land critical hits when others would miss.

Counters: Dodge  ·  Primary stat: Intuition

Dodge

Agility-driven build. Creates tempo by making opponents swing at nothing. Renders armor irrelevant by denying the hit entirely.

Counters: Tank  ·  Primary stat: Agility

Tank

Strength and vitality-driven build. Absorbs punishment and outlasts burst windows. Survives the crit fighter's best moment and answers with sustained pressure.

Counters: Crit  ·  Primary stats: Strength + Vitality

Universal

All stats balanced. Trades peak power for answers into every matchup. No hard counters, no hard losses — flexibility over specialization.

The Arena Triangle

Three archetypes form a closed counter loop. Universal sits outside it, trading specialization for coverage.

Dodge beats Tank

Agility turns armor into dead weight. Dodgers deny tank fighters any return on their HP investment by simply not getting hit.

Crit beats Dodge

Intuition reads the step before it happens. High anti-dodge from crit builds collapses the evasion window that dodgers rely on.

Tank beats Crit

Vitality absorbs the burst window. Tanks survive the crit fighter's brightest moment, then answer with weight, reach, and stubborn survival.

Primary Stats

Each fighter has four primary stats. Every few XP milestones you earn stat points to spend freely. Gear also adds bonuses on top of your base investment.

Strength

Controls your damage output. Higher strength pushes both your minimum and maximum hit harder. Every 3 points above the base of 3 adds +1 to each damage bound.

Damage = base (2–5) + (STR − 3) / 3 + gear + mastery

Agility

Fuels your evasion and anti-tracking. Each point above 3 adds +5% Dodge, +4% Anti-Dodge, and +2% Anti-Crit. The faster you move, the harder you are to read and the harder you are to pin down.

Dodge = 15% + (AGI − 3) × 5% + gear

Intuition

Sharpens your reads. Each point above 3 adds +5% Crit, +4% Anti-Crit, and +2% Anti-Dodge. High intuition fighters bait movement and punish predictable timing.

Crit = 15% + (INT − 3) × 5% + gear

Vitality

Determines how much punishment you can absorb. Each point adds 6 HP. Vitality also increases automatically by +1 each time you level up — it scales with your fighter's career, not just stat decisions.

Max HP = VIT × 6 + gear bonus

Weapon Mastery

Mastery points are earned at each level-up. Each point invested in a weapon type adds +1 to both minimum and maximum damage when that weapon type is equipped. Mastery only applies when the matching weapon is in use.

Progression Table

Every XP milestone rewards stat points, gold, or both. Level-ups also grant a mastery point and +1 auto vitality. You start at level 1 with 3 stat points and 1 mastery point already available.
